The week of protests ahead of the G20 summit taking place in London this week started yesterday as around thirty five thousand protesters of all shapes, sizes and affiliations marched peacefully from the Embankment to Hyde Park.

London Mayor Boris Johnson wants the capital’s public spaces to be made more attractive for visitors and Londoners alike. Announcing a new initiative in Cannes, the Mayor’s Great Spaces panel will decide on projects submitted by London Boroughs to improve London’s ‘hidden treasures’ with up to £200,000 set aside this year to enable feasibility and design work to be undertaken by projects who want to take advantage of the fund.
