It’s been a turbulent ten days for MP’s of all political persuasions as day after day the Daily Telegraph reveals more extravagance in the MP expenses debacle. Whilst PM Gordon Brown plays catch up in the game of decisive action, Conservative leader, David Cameron has been seen to be taking immediate and decisive action in relation to his MP’s telling them they face the sack if they don’t pay the money back, regardless of whether the claims were within the rules.
London Mayor Boris Johnson wants the capital’s public spaces to be made more attractive for visitors and Londoners alike. Announcing a new initiative in Cannes, the Mayor’s Great Spaces panel will decide on projects submitted by London Boroughs to improve London’s ‘hidden treasures’ with up to £200,000 set aside this year to enable feasibility and design work to be undertaken by projects who want to take advantage of the fund.
